Daily RSS feed with Wiktionary’s English Word of the Day

Wednesday, April 9th 2008, 19:32 UTC Published in in English, internet, link tips

While browsing a list of personalized feed recommendations in Google Reader, I found an RSS feed which on a daily basis defines and links to Wiktionary‘s “English Word of the Day” feature. In my mind, this is a convenient way to learn about the existence words not often used in basic day-to-day English.

As far as I know, tweaks such a this one that are provided outside of the wiki itself, are needed due to the Mediawiki software’s default RSS facilities being, for obvious reasons, more focused on following changes made to articles, rather than providing individual feeds for sections with daily updates.

Once again, a link to the feed in question.
